General Mechanic – Diesel & LP Equipment

Location: Within a 1-hour radius of Rockford, IL
Hours: 40 hours/week + overtime opportunities
Pay: Hourly, based on experience

About the Job:

American Rigging and Millwright is looking for a hands-on mechanic who knows their way around diesel and LP engines. You’ll be working on pickup trucks, semis, forklifts, cranes, and other equipment to keep everything running strong. If you’ve got 5+ years experience, take pride in your work, and want to be part of a tight-knit, hardworking crew, we’d like to talk to you.

What You’ll Be Doing:

🔧 Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel & LP-powered equipment
🔧 Work includes but not limited to pickup trucks, semis, forklifts, and cranes
🔧 Handle routine maintenance and troubleshooting
🔧 Keep our job sites and shop operations running smooth
🔧 Make sure every repair is done safely and right

What We’re Looking For:

✔️ 5+ years of hands-on mechanical experience
✔️ Strong knowledge of diesel & LP engines
✔️ Can work independently and figure things out
✔️ CDL is a plus, but not required
✔️ Reliable, safety-focused, and detail-oriented
